Why a retreat?

Deeply Rooted Magazine exists to educate, encourage, and inspire Christ-following women to become deeply rooted in their Christian faith. To that end, we've published eight issues, each one the result of dozens of contributors from around the world pouring out their love for Christ in an attempt to share that love with others. We are proud of every issue, and we're excited to continue publishing more in the future. But as we've returned to our mission over and over, we've realized the opportunity to do more.

We’re ecstatic to announce the Deeply Rooted Retreat. This retreat will carry the spirit of the magazine while providing what a magazine cannot: a physical haven apart from the buzz of daily life and the lacquer of friendships made stronger through intimate, mutual communion with Christ.

Who is this for?

Women today are pulled in every direction. Sometimes we are just so busy and unfortunately, our Bible reading and prayer life take the back burner. This retreat is intended for women who desire meaty, spiritual nourishment. Our desire is that this would be so much more than a spiritual high that will soon wear off shortly after getting back into the grind. We want to equip you with the foundational skills to become deeply rooted in your Christian faith, and we want to encourage the spiritual skills some women feel they’ve let die out, so you can remain deeply rooted long after this retreat.

Whether a stay at home or working mom, college student or business owner, single or married, this is an event that you will not want to miss. We are certain you will leave a changed woman ready to walk into the world wearing spiritual armor that will equip you to face life.

Where will it take place?

The retreat will be held at the beautiful Camp Hebron in Halifax, Pennsylvania, where the style of Deeply Rooted will meet the raw beauty of nature. We couldn’t think of a better place to unplug and become more deeply rooted in your faith than in the middle of God’s creation.

What will it offer?

Our theme is “Be Deeply Rooted,” which we’ve drawn from Colossians 2:6–7. We will hold keynote messages, creative break out sessions, worship services, and activities centered around this theme. 

Some topics we will cover include:

• building solid Bible study habits
• how the Gospel impacts our day-to-day
• confidently engaging with others about your faith
• why theology is important for all Christians
• placing our identity in Christ
• tips for various spiritual disciplines 
• worship, prayer, Scripture memorization, marriage, motherhood, and so much more!

Activities we can't wait to partake in include:

• hands on, creative workshops (wooden spoon carving, writing, to name a few)
• cozy campfire conversations with coffee in hand
• worshipping alongside other sisters in Christ
• a curated marketplace
• a styled dinner in the woods
• built-in free time for personal reflection, Bible reading, and personal growth
• hiking and exploring the Appalachian Trail
• giveaways, surprises, and so much more!

Ticket sales and all event information will release on Tuesday, February 16th at 10:30am, EST. Some of the breakout sessions and workshops have maximum capacities so we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible to ensure seats in the classes you wish to attend.

This retreat has been in the works for several months now and we've already began praying for all our future attendees. We are so excited to see how God will move through this event!
