Dear Deeply Rooted Reader

Eight years ago, the concept of a beautiful, Scripture-rich Christian women's magazine were simply thoughts in my mind and scribbles in a coffee-stained notebook. In early 2014, this idea became a reality when Readers like yourself supported our publication through a crowd-funding campaign.

Since those early days, the Lord allowed us to print 15 issues. What an opportunity it has been to collaborate with brothers and sisters in Christ from across the world to put together every one of these issues. What joy it has brought us to hear how these issues have blessed readers like you!

Throughout that campaign, my husband and I prayed that the Lord's will be done. I wrote about this in “A Holy Pursuit: How the Gospel Frees Us to Follow and Lay Down Our Dreams”:

“Despite the ‘success’ of this campaign, the reaching of our goal confirmed this as a calling—a calling that we must hold onto loosely, for He could call us away from it at any moment. To this day, our mentality remains to print issues to issue. We are not enslaved to notions that we have to grow our subscriber list or gain a bigger digital footprint in the world of social media. We walk in freedom from the pressure of business or ministry building because we have redefined Christian success. And we trust that just as God led here, He can lead us away if that is His will.”

Our business plan was simple: walk by faith, hold this ministry loosely, and print issue to issue. While this has been a fantastic run, we are at a point in our journey where the Lord has given us peace to discontinue creating our print magazine. This is not a decision we’ve made lightly and it has not come without some sadness. Though we love the creative process and the product so much, we are confident that this is the next step He wants us to take.

Here's what you need to know:

1. If you are a subscriber, your subscription is now cancelled. We've handled all cancellations on our end, and you will not be charged for any future issues. You do not need to do anything further at this point.

2. Our DR shop will remain open. Our goal is to clear out all of our in-stock inventory to close down the physical space we are renting out. Please be in prayer as we make this shift and transition. This will take time but, thankfully, our issues really are timeless and make for a great gift to others. Please utilize the discount code at the end of this e-mail if you would like.

3. This is not the end of Deeply Rooted. We have some future plans for DR, but the timing is up to the Lord! There is a new direction stirring in our heart but we are seeking the Lord asking for wisdom. In the meantime, our team will take an extended season of rest. We plan to continue publishing written content on our blog and social media platforms as we are able.

Lastly, we would like to thank you for being a supporter, subscriber, and reader. Whether you've subscribed to one issue or every single issue, know that your support is the reason Deeply Rooted exists. We've had the opportunity to minister to women worldwide, and you've played a role in that mission. Lord willing, this mission will continue but in a new and fresh way! We are excited about the road ahead and trust that God will fill you with the same peace He has given us as you navigate your own next steps.
